August 14, 2010 - participated in the Stafford School Link test with the Stafford, VA ECOM group. Several volunteers drove to the schools in Stafford County and we gathered signal reports at the EOC. At the same time, we noted the signal strength of from the other test sites at our remote site. This provides a way to determine the feasibility of simplex communications between schools within Stafford.
The test ran for two hours and was well organized. My rig was a FT-857, 10' RG-58, MagMount dual band on my truck. High power was 50W on 2M and 20W on 444. Low power was 5W on both bands.
Here is my data.
